Community Training
Today’s savvy businesses and organizations know promoting diversity and inclusion is not just the right thing to do, but a smart thing to do. CoSpire members and its supporting team are experts in helping your office, store, and organization become a welcoming and productive environment. Diversity, inclusion, and equity training is available to all our community partners and to the public upon request.
Here are some benefits of disability accommodation (ADA) and why employers should enforce it in the workplace:
Compliance with ADA helps to create a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone has equal opportunities.
Providing reasonable accommodations to employees with disabilities can improve productivity, reduce absenteeism, and increase job satisfaction.
Compliance with the ADA can help employers avoid costly litigation and penalties for noncompliance.
ADA compliance is not only a legal requirement but also a moral obligation to ensure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.
New York’s Workers with Disabilities Employment Tax Credit provides up to $2,100 per person for the second year of employment for people receiving vocational rehabilitation services (with a written individual employment plan) from the state, or those who qualify for a Federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) for the first year.
The state also provides tax credits for businesses that hire people with developmental disabilities.
